Add Credentials
You can use this credentials section to store sensitive information such as your Linode token and SSL certificates. Add any sensitive info that is required for the ASG, and you can fetch those values from the credentials section. This ensures that sensitive information is securely managed and easily accessible for configurations.
Add Environment Variables
If your application configuration requires.envfiles or any other value dependencies, you can use the "Environment" section to store these values. This ensures that all necessary configuration variables are securely managed and easily accessible during server setup and deployment.
Add Launch Template
Select the operating system and image that meet your application's requirements. Navigate to the launch templates section in your cloud provider's console and create a new launch template, specifying the OS, image, and instance type. Add a startup script in the "run script" section to configure the instances.
Create Auto Scaling Group (ASG)
Navigate to the ASG section in your cloud provider's console and create a new ASG, selecting the previously created launch template. Configure the desired, minimum, and maximum number of instances to meet your application's scaling requirements. Enable SSL certificates option for more security. Finally, attach the ASG to a Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), specifying the subnets and ensuring proper security configurations are in place.
ASG Logs
To monitor the live progress and get updates, you can go to the activity section of the ASG and check the real-time logs. This allows you to track the status of your instances, identify any issues, and ensure that the ASG is functioning as expected.
